This van conversion is fantastic, even for taller folks thanks to the back extension. The handling is a breeze, and the communication with the company throughout the whole process was smooth.

Terrible service... they really don’t give a hoot about their customers. The van we got from them was in rough shape, and whenever it rained, water started leaking into the vehicle.

Even though the ride was a tad aged, it turned out to be a solid and secure vehicle. Plus, it comes with all the essential gear for a pleasant camping trip!

I had an incredible time; my Spaceship was super comfy, easy to handle, and really powerful. The sun roofs were a total game changer for stargazing and snapping stunning photos. I also loved how high the car sits, and those wide windscreens really enhance the scenic drive compared to a regular vehicle.

The service was top-notch, and picking up and dropping off the car was smooth, hassle-free, and super convenient for travelers, especially when flying at odd hours.

All in all, super happy we went with this for our week-long adventure in NZ. It pretty much met our expectations and did the trick at a way lower price than a larger camper. We slept pretty well and the drive was nice. Had a few hiccups though - the main issue was that the instructions given weren’t always spot on and support was only available from 9 to 5. We struggled to get the power running on our first night because the instructions were off, which was a bit of a hassle. The drop-off process wasn’t quite what was promised. It’d be awesome if they included a phone mount instead of just a satnav option - definitely bring your own if you plan to use your phone for navigation. Lastly, the gas cookers were a bit finicky. But I’d totally use this service again; I’d just take a little more time to ensure we’re satisfied with everything when picking up the vehicle so we could swap out the gas cookers and sort out the power issue.

The campers from Spaceships are fantastic. They’re well-kept, tidy, and just the right size for road trips. The staff at the Christchurch location were super friendly and really helpful. We’ll definitely return!

Picking up from the depot was a breeze, and the customer support is excellent, no matter if it's a big issue or a minor question. The car ran smoothly, and overall, we had an amazing experience in our Spaceship. Seriously, don’t look anywhere else - Spaceships is the way to go!

We tried out a spaceship camper in both Australia and New Zealand. The one we had in Australia was missing the small sink and toilet, which let the passenger seat slide back further for a bit more comfort. The New Zealand camper (self-contained stealth) was a tad newer, but with the sink positioned behind the passenger seat, I found the legroom a bit cramped for taller folks. Just a heads up: these vans are pretty old, clocking in around 150,000 to 350,000 km, but they seem to be kept in good shape. I had a great time chatting with the spaceship crew; they were always quick to respond and super helpful. We also got the rear extension/canvas tent, which made sleeping a lot cozier. These vans don’t come with cruise control or fancy features, but they drive just fine.

The service was friendly, quick, and adaptable. The vehicle was in excellent shape. The camping gear, linens, and all that jazz were of top-notch quality. Overall, it was a fantastic experience with really thoughtful and caring service.

This was my first time camping in quite a while, especially in a van (though it felt more like a big car, but hey, it was just right for one person). I had a blast, even with the not-so-great weather. I traveled around a lot, sleeping close to beautiful beaches, mostly in camps but not all the time. I felt secure in the vehicle. What a lovely adventure! As for the organization, everything went smoothly and was super easy. The only thing I’d suggest is having a way to hold the phone in front of the driver, since I was constantly using GPS and Google Maps. Also, when it came to checking out and leaving the car, I didn’t find a proper solution other than parking it on the street, but it seemed to work out fine. All in all, if I had to sum it up, I’d say it was nearly perfect.

Picking up the van was pretty smooth, but I noticed in my email it mentioned there’d be wifi. There was, but if an employee wasn’t around, I couldn’t get the password. Maybe a QR code would help? All the lights in the back were out, so I had to rely on a flashlight, which wasn’t super handy. It’d be great to have a downloadable PDF with all the van info and instructions, though it wasn’t too tricky to figure things out. I wasn’t sure how to empty the toilet, but thankfully, I didn’t need to use it. A couple of small bins for doing dishes would be nice since the sink is quite tiny. Also, a better frying pan and spatula would be a good idea; the plastic one melted and left bits in the pan, which is not ideal. A tablespoon of baking soda to clean the solar shower before using it and a bit of cooking oil wouldn’t hurt either.
